DESCRIPTION
Beatrice and her adolescent son come from England to the south of France with the mission to clean up an old house that they put for sale. When the mother is struggling to come to terms with the breakdown of her marriage, Elliot meets a rebellious, introverted boy in the village. Fascinated by the young Frenchman, he spends more and more time with him. At the same time, he gradually distances himself away from Beatrice, with whom he used to talk about everything. "Departure" is an intensely intimate portrait of the evolving relationship between mother and son.
