Results of the Independent Short Films Competition

We now know the results of the Independent Short Films Competition of the 9th Film and Art Festival Two Riversides.

First prize goes to GRANDMA’S DAY by Miłosz Sakowski. It’s a moving story, starring Anna Dymna in the leading role, about an attempt at scamming an elderly woman. However, when the truth is revealed, the tables are turned. The film’s author received a cash prize of 5,000zł.

Second prize, in the amount of 3,000zł, goes to Damian Kocur for his WHAT I WANT. The film tells a realistic story of two young people – Ariel and Karolina. When the two meet, it is a clash of two apparently different desires, whose source in both cases is loneliness.

Third place belongs to AMERICA by Aleksandra Terpińska. It’s a tale of two girls from poor families, who dream of a better life. The film’s good energy and two powerful roles earned Aleksandra a cash prize of 2,000zł.

The Social Scholarship Fund award in the amount of 1,000zł for the youngest filmmaker of the 9th Film and Art Festival Two Riversides goes to Adam Suzin, author of INTERRUPTION. It is a miniature without words, and it asks whether our experiences influence the way in which we cope with difficult situations in life.

The competition is aimed both at professionals and film school graduates, as well as amateurs and students. The competition winners have been selected by the Independent Jury, consisting of chosen festival participants. The award for the youngest filmmaker has been chosen by the festival’s Program Department.
