Inspired by events in his life, „Miles Ahead” is a wildly entertaining, impressionistic, no-holds barred portrait of one of 20th century music’s creative geniuses, Miles Davis, featuring a career defining performance by Oscar nominee Don Cheadle in the title role. Alone and holed up in his home, he is beset by chronic pain from a deteriorating hip, his musical voice stifled and numbed by drugs and pain medications, his mind haunted by unsettling ghosts from the past.

Don Cheadle (1964) American actor and director. Born in Kansas City, he graduated from the California Institute of Arts. He received a Golden Globe for his role in the telefilm "The Rat Pack" (1999) and the series "House of Lies" (2013). Many times nominated for an Emmy, he was also nominated for the Oscar for the leading role in "Hotel Rwanda" (2004). "Miles Ahead" is the first feature that he directed.
