DESCRIPTION

"The Internal Ear" is a story about musical improvisation that presents the contemporary international jazz scene. The movie is hosted by Mikołaj Trzaska (composer, saxophonist, clarinetist). His artistic biography and the independent, uncompromising path that he follows, constitute the starting point of the narration. The film points at areas, inspiration and roots that are the building blocks of improvised music.

DIRECTOR
Magdalena Gubała (1982) Graduated in Film Studies at the Jagiellonian University. Together with Szymon Uliasz, she received the Andrzej Munk Award for the best directorial debut in 2012 for the film "Papercuts".

Szymon Uliasz (1982) Director of anthropological documentaries: "Pogłosy, powidoki" [After-Sounds, After-Sights] (2011), "Błędne mapy" [Errant Maps] (2014). PhD student at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Jagiellonian University. Together with Magdalena Gubała, in 2012 he received the Andrzej Munk Award for the best directorial debut for the film "Papercuts".
