DESCRIPTION
Two worlds: a scientist and a painter, a pragmatist and a dreamer. Alfons and Mieczysław Kułakowski clash with each other and love each other. Torn between Poland and Kazakhstan, ambition and submission, memories and the present, they never stop fighting: in Soviet Russia, in the remote Siberia, and after being repatriated – in capitalist Poland. Years later, when fire claims their long-desired house along with everything they own, brotherly love is once again put to the test. Will they be able to start anew?

DIRECTOR
Wojciech Staroń (1973) Respected camera operator, director of award-winning documentaries. He graduated from the Director of Photography Department at the National Film School in Łódź, and has been a collaborator of Kinga Dębska, Krzysztof Krauze, and Joanna Kos-Krauze, among others.
