DESCRIPTION
We follow the realistically shot story of Jakub: sentenced for a crime that he never committed, after twenty years he is released from prison. But can he be free? "Freedom means no secrets." Jakub learns the identity of the only witness whose accusations were the basis for his conviction. Conversations and poetic monologues serve as building blocks to record a family and social drama.
DIRECTOR
Mariusz Bieliński (1968) Graduate of the Vocal Performance and Acting Studio at the Danuta Badaszkowa Musical Theatre in Gdynia. He studied at the Directing Department of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Winner of the second prize in the Polish edition of the Hartley-Merrill competition and of the main prize at the International Interscenario Festival in Wrocław. The drama "Above" was recognised at Gdynia Drama Awards.
